CONFIRMATION FORMATION EXPECTATIONS

All 7^th & 8^th grade Candidates are expected to attend either Family Faith Formation Sessions at St. Patrick Parish on Sunday evenings, twice a month, as per our Middle School Faith Formation Calendar, or York Catholic School for Confirmation Catechesis; and to attend Mass every Saturday evening or Sunday, as well as holy days of obligation.

7th Grade Year Expectations: 

All 7th Grade Confirmation parents – whose children attend York Catholic or Public Schools are expected to attend two Confirmation Parent & Student Sessions: 1. after 5:30pm Mass– 6-8pm in Brenner Hall:  Wed., Sept. 20, 2023 and 2. after 5:00 pm Mass - 6-8 pm in Brenner  Hall: Sunday Jan. 28, 2024. 
 A simple dinner will be provided.

All 7^th grade candidates will choose a Sponsor to stand to support their faith, and stand with them at Confirmation who is: a confirmed Catholic, active in his/her faith, in good standing with the Church, and at least 16 years old Students. Please read about sponsors Click Here. Sponsor forms are to be submitted to the Faith Formation Office by Jan. 28, 2023, or brought to the Jan. 28 Parent/Student session. 

All 7^th grade candidates and at least one parent are to attend either the Opening of the Parish 40 Hours on Sun. Mar. 17, 2024, at 11am Mass or the Closing of Parish 40 Hours Tues. Mar. 19, 2024, 7:00pm.

All 7^th grade candidates will write a Saint Report on your Confirmation Saint; detailing a little about the Saint’s life, what you learned about them, and why you chose that Saint for your Confirmation name.  Saints Reports are due to the Faith Formation Office by Jan. 12, 2025. Click for Saints Form

All 7^th grade candidates will complete a total of 6 service projects (2 for church, 2 for community, 2 for family). Service reflection forms are due to the Faith Formation Office by April 27, 2025. School service hours can count toward Confirmation Service projects, but candidates must submit a Confirmation service reflection sheet for each submitted project. - Click for Service Form
